Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6

nbsp;          The 3 Kings, also known as members of the student council decided to end the sports festival with a grand ball. But not any other ball, the ladies will wear tuxedos while the boys will wear dresses.

“So, this is one of your plans to reveal who is Azumi among the students?” Kota asked as they took their glass from the waiter in the party hall.

“Yup, this time we’ll definitely discover her true identity” Yuya smirked as he sips on his glass.

“By the way, where’s Hikaru?” Kota asked as he noticed that the varsity king was not with them at the moment.

“Ah, I think he’s waiting for Inoo-kun at the entrance. Probably very excited to see him in a dress or something…”

“This is such a great idea Yuya but why aren’t we included to dress as a lady tonight?”

“Privileges, Kota… Privileges… I told them that we’ll be busy attending to the school’s board of directors needs so we need to look presentable to them like real gentlemen”

“Clever idea, Yuya. I didn’t expect you to do a big step just to discover Azumi”

“Well, you never know when someone’s in love”

nbsp;          Meanwhile, Kei is panicking on her room as Daiki watched her walk here and there.

“Kei, ochi suke! We’ll figure out this if you stay calm, ok?” Daiki pulled her to sit beside him.

“Okay” she sighed deeply and calmed down.

“But how we will work this out?” she pouted and leaned her head on Daiki’s shoulder.

“Ah! I got a bright idea!”

“What?”

“Let’s give your princes the best night ever!”

nbsp;          Kei arrived at the party hall but still worrying about Daiki’s brilliant idea. She tried her best to retain his geeky image on her light pink dress. She just put lipgloss to somehow match her face with the dress. Still wearing the mushroom short hair wig with the straight fringe covering her forehead and also her round thick glasses. She walked into the entrance and a very excited Hikaru Yaotome approached her immediately.

“Hi! Let’s hang-out tonight!” Hikaru taps her shoulder like a pal and guided her towards the student council’s table. Kei noticed that the members of the student council are in normal attire unlike the other students.

“Ahm, Hikaru?” Kei leaned on him slightly as she whispers.

“What’s up?”

“Why are you guys in normal attire?”

“Ah, the student council members are required to look formal and presentable when we attend to the Board of Directors of the school”

“Ah, sou…”

“Yuya, Kota!” Hikaru called the two who were standing beside the window.

“Ah, Inoo-kun. Glad you’re here” Kota greeted her as they sat on their table.

“You look cute with your dress, Inoo” Yuya complimented as he put on a smirk. Kei shivered as she saw that look on his face as if revealing something.

“Don’t say that, in fact, I was really embarrassed to wear this. You’re lucky, you don’t have to wear a dress for tonight” Kei retorted and looked to the stage as the MC welcomes everyone.

“Tonight, to end the very successful sports festival. We have a very special guest for tonight, she’s also a student here in Koizora High”

“Huh? You also planned this, Yuya?”

“I have no idea about this special guest”

“Could it be?” Hikaru asked the two

“Let’s give her a round of applause! Miss Azumi!” the MC announced and everyone stood to welcome her.

nbsp;          The spot light was pointed at the entrance and there Azumi showed up with a gorgeously designed blue dress and a white beautiful mask covering her eyes and nose. Since the guys were in dress, they didn’t have the guts to approach her due to their embarrassment. Only the student council approached her and greeted her personally since they are in normal attire.

“Uwaah, she’s so beautiful!”Kei squealed as she look at Azumi being guided towards the table of the President of Koizora High and other VIPs.

“You should have greeted her personally too, you know!” Hikaru elbowed her as he can’t hide the wide grin on his face.

“Wow, Yuya. I didn’t think you’re this awesome!” Kota punched Yuya lightly as he excitedly stare at Azumi.

“I told you, it wasn’t me who invited her but what the heck! This is our chance now!” Yuya said as they returned to their seats.

nbsp;          But wait, isn’t Inoo Kei hiding himself as Azumi? But Azumi is right there…

nbsp;          Yuya stared at Inoo who was talking to Hikaru across him. Kota noticed him and elbowed him.

“What’s wrong Yuya?”

“Ah, nothing” he shook his head and stared back at Azumi.

nbsp;          Ah, I might be mistaking. Why will Azumi disguise herself as a guy? Other students and the teachers might have discovered it already if she did. Ah, Yuya! Stop it. Inoo Kei is not Azumi. Period!

nbsp;          After eating dinner, Yuya went to the stage as the orchestra club members assemble their instruments. Yuya grabs his violin and took the microphone.

“This song is especially dedicated to Miss Azumi. Me and the orchestra club prepared for this night of celebration in the success of the sports festival of Koizora High” Yuya announced then started playing his violin. After the intro, Yuya stopped playing and started singing. While Kei can’t help herself listen to it and stare at Yuya.

nbsp;          Uwaah! What a beautiful song! I haven’t heard this, is he the one who composed it? It’s really soothing… his voice, it matches the lyrics and music.

nbsp;          After their performance, everyone gave them a standing ovation. Yuya bowed towards Azumi’s direction and smiled at her.

“Takaki-kun, you’re so great!” Kei was the first one who approached him when he got off the stage after presenting the next performers.

“Yeah, you’re so cool back there!” Hikaru also commented and gave him a thumbs up.

“Great job, man!” Kota high-five him.

“Thanks guys! Ah, Azumi?”Yuya’s smile disappear when he was not able to see Azumi.

“Ah sou, I think she left already” Kei explained as she looks towards Azumi’s table. Kei also noticed the sad faces of the three after pointing it out.

“I think she has many things to do so she was not able to stay that long” Kei added.

“Maa! Let’s just enjoy the rest of the party then!” Kota tried to cheer them up.

“Yosh! Let’s enjoy the party!” Hikaru announced and the rock music played. Everyone gathered at the dance hall and enjoyed the rest of the night.

nbsp;          Azumi didn’t stay long and have to leave after 30 minutes so the 3 didn’t have a chance to chat with her.

Yosha! Dai-chan, arigatou! I hope no one noticed you’re disguise…

nbsp;          The next morning, Daiki woke up feeling an arm wrapped around his waist. He sat up and found Kei sleeping beside him.

“Kei?” Daiki tried to unwrap her arm but she won’t.

“Dai-chan… arigatou” Kei mumbled, he knows she’s awake. Daiki laid back and hugs her too.

“You came this early just to thank me?” he chuckled, amazed with her randomness.

“Um! I was really planning to surprise you by waking you up but I saw your cute sleeping face so I decided to sleep beside you like this” Kei cooed closer to his chest.

“I’m not cute!”

“Yes you are”

“I prefer you call me handsome though” he made a very proud face

“Okay, thank you so much handsome!”she pinched his nose and hugged him again.

“Kei, look at me” he cupped her face and made her face him.

“Hmm?”

“The truth is… I love you… so much”

“Me too, Dai-chan”

“I love you as a lover not just a bestfriend” upon hearing that, Kei sat up and faked a cough.

“Let’s have breakfast now! I’m hungry!” she lied but Daiki took her hand when she was about to stand and pulled her to pin her on his bed.

“Dai-chan?”

“Kei, I’m serious here! I love you! Ever since we met, I’ve tried to hide my feelings but… I just can’t hide it any longer” he holds her wrist as he explained.

“Dai-chan, I’m not ready for a relationship. You know I’m still studying and working at the same time. I just don’t have time for that.” She looked away, avoiding his stares

“Alright, I’ll give you time but when the time comes you’re ready, just tell me” he sighed deeply and let go of her as he sat on his bed.

“I promise” she sat up and hugs him.

“I love you” Daiki cupped her face and planted a soft kiss on her lips.
