Summary: He triggered the memory of her broken heart, now how will she face it? -> ok, just read it. It’s short!

“Poor young lady, getting hurt all this time by her love ones. She’s been out of herself this past few days… I hope she can find her true happiness soon” the manager said on his mind as he stares at her walking figure towards the backdoor of the restaurant.

nbsp;              The bell chimes as she opened the back door to leave. It was just 3pm and her manager told her to call it a day. She didn’t know why, she doesn’t feel sick or anything. Her manager approached her 15 minutes ago and now she’s waiting for the stoplight to turn in to red so she can cross the street. A familiar guy was across the street wearing his narrow-eye smile that she always see whenever he eats on the family restaurant she is working at. The stoplight turned red so she made her way across the street and greeted the guy with a smile.

“Ehrm, can I ask you out today?” she heard him, almost a whisper as the wind suddenly blows. She turned around and accepted it. They went to a café near the train station. As they sat, the guy is obviously very shy as he was silent while looking at the menu. She just stared at the view the window is showing, the busy city of Tokyo.

“I’m Yabu Kota and you’re Inoo Kei-san, right?” the guy finally speaks after a minute of silence between them.

“Just call me Kei, you don’t have to be formal” she chuckled as he scratch his hair a little due to embarrassment.

“So Kei… Wanna try anything from here?” Kota opened the menu to her to ask what she wants. She looked at the guy across her then smiled.

“Hmm, milk tea will be fine then” she replied then returned her gaze towards the window.

nbsp;              After he ordered, he continued their conversation. He asked if she is attending any of the university, and the likes. Their order came and so he started a different topic this time.

“Ahm, sorry if I ask this but is it true you broke up with Yuya last week?” that question made her stop sipping on her cup. She placed it on the table and looked at him.

“Yuya?” she raised a brow as she asks.

“Um, Takaki Yuya. Actually he’s my friend and I happened to hear from him that you two broke up already” As she heard the full name, she fidgeted.

“Ah, Yuya. I didn’t broke up with him, he did” she casually said as she took another sip on her milk tea while her hands a bit shaky.

nbsp;              *Plop* Ah, that’s right. I almost forgot that. We broke up last week, me and Yuya.

“Ah, my bad” he facepalmed mentally as she told him that.

nbsp;              How can Yuya dump this beautiful girl? She looks so fragile, she might break if I touch her. Her hands are so delicate to touch yet I want to hold hers with mine.

“Mmm, it’s okay. I’m used to it. People leaving me, that is” she said as she shook her head lightly and forced a smile on him.

nbsp;              *Plop* It’s always been this way, my family left me alone in this world. Friends’ betrayal and lovers’ unfaithfulness. It was all written in my destiny to be hurt like this.

“Ahm, are you alright?” he asks as he noticed the changes in her actions.

“Daijobu, ah I need to go now” she said after looking at her wrist watch. She bows at him and stood to leave. He was just silent.

nbsp;              Come on Yabu Kota! It’s your chance and now you’re holding back? This opportunity won’t come again.

nbsp;              He stood and took out some bills and left it on their table and chased her. Kei was about to cross the street when she felt a hand pulling her towards the park.

“Yabu-san?” she asks as she wonder, she didn’t struggle though. He didn’t talk back, when he saw an empty bench. He let go of her and sat.

“Sit here for a while” he smiled at her. She sat beside him and looked at the fountain in front of the entrance to the park.

“Is there something important you want to say, Yabu-san?” she asked him again this time looking at her feet.

“I thought you don’t want formalities?” he chuckled as he asked back.

“Ah, gomen”

“Call me Kota” she didn’t respond when he told her that, she just nods silently.

“Here” he gave her his handkerchief.

“Eh?”

“I think you need to use that”

“You’re mistaking, Yabu-san. I don’t-“

“Kota. Call me that if you really gotten over him already”

“What are you talking about?” she blinks at him in confusion

“The way you say his name is so different, see… you can’t even call my first name ‘coz you still love him, don’t you?”

nbsp;              *Plop* What is he saying? *Plop* Hm? Is it raining? *Plop* But why do I felt so uneasy? *Plop* I can’t breathe *Plop*

“Kei, you’ve been crying since I told you about him at the café” he finally said.

nbsp;              *Plop, plop, plop, plop* Huh? So, these drops are… my tears then…

nbsp;              She touched her eyes, indeed she was crying non-stop. Her tears continue to flow down to her cheeks.

“Finally, you broke the ice around you” he commented as he lays her head gently on his shoulder.

“Eh? Ice? What ice?”

“You’re feelings, Kei. You force yourself to forget about him, you kept your feelings deep inside and when I said his name, that’s the trigger to release all your kept feelings” he explained as he avoids looking at her beautiful face. He knows she’s crying silently, with his handkerchief. He just let her cry on his shoulder. He didn’t dare to look at her sad face. It’ll only break his heart if he did.

nbsp;              I wish I could give you a new heart so that you can dispose of your broken one and start a new beginning… I’ve always watch you from afar because I’m too coward to approach you. Too afraid to break you if I touch you. Too scared that you’ll distant from me if I confess.

“Arigatou…” she finally talk, the sunset can be seen between the trees on the park. She sat up and squeeze the handkerchief on her hand.

“Kota…” she finally said with a different kind of smile. A smile that he saw for the first time. It was so warm and heart-tickling at the same time. Kota was so happy he stood and yelled.

“Yay! She called my name finally! Wooh!” he yelled as he jumped and ran around the bench. She stood and giggles at his childishness. He stop in front of her and cupped her face.

“Are you refreshed now?” he asks as he slowly leaned closer.

“Um” she nods but looked down.

“Yokatta” he breathed out as he let go of her and looked at the sunset. She stared at his figure, he close his eyes as he breaths the fresh air and feels the sun rays slowly disappearing.

nbsp;              What’s this? Why is my heart beating so fast? Could it be?

“So, are you free tomorrow night? There’s a new amusement park on the next city and I want to ask if… you want to go?” he asks shyly as he scratch his head a little with unsure tone.

“Iku!” she said as her smile never disappeared from then on.

A/N: This is my very first official Angst fanfic. I hope this one could pass as one though *giggles*. Anyways, here’s my New Year gift for Inoo and Inoobu fans! Sorry it’s too late. Actually, this story is based from “Betty’s a bombshell” by Groupday, the theme song of Sprout. It’s just whenever I listen to this song, this story came up in my head.
