Title: Wish (Part 2) – One Shot

“So we’ll just hide here until tonight?”
“Hmmm… Now that you’re a girl, why don’t we just have a date then?” the short guy excitedly suggested making the latter surprised, “D-date?! But why?!”
“Why not? We always go out together, there’s nothing new about that”
“But… but…”
“No buts! Now, let’s sneak back to get our things then head out fast”
“Eh? Seriously?”
“Let’s go, Inoochan!”
“Fine…”
After successfully leaving the jimusho without being spotted by a JUMP member, the two wandered around the city. They keep on walking and Daiki didn’t notice that he walks too fast that Kei is already surrounded by a group of highschool guys a few blocks behind him.
“Hey cutie, come hang out with us for awhile” the guy who seems to be the ‘leader’ invited Kei, putting an arm around her shoulder.
“Cutie?! Who’re you calling ‘cutie’?!”
“Aaaah! It’s Arashi!” Daiki suddenly appeared and pointed behind them. They believed immediately and asked “Where?” so Daiki took the opportunity to grab Kei’s hand and ran way. They entered a ramen shop and sat at a table, catching their breaths.
“Yokatta…”
“Daichan, you saved me”
“Aren’t I cool? Like that of a shoujo manga?”
“But you know, you don’t have to do that. I was going to lecture them but you ruined my speech!”
“Maa! Maa! Maa! Since we’re here, let’s just eat ‘till we drop!”
“That’s so like you, Daichan” Kei giggled, covering her mouth with her hand.
“And since you’re my date today, I’ll treat you!”
“Uwaah! Lucky~”
“But please, don’t eat too much okay?”
“Sorry Daichan, can’t promise that. Uwaah! Look at their special ramen! Umasou!”
“Maa! Maa! Maa! I guess I’ll let my wallet cry for today then”
They ordered the special ramen in jumbo size for each and as usual, Kei ordered rice for it too. As they eat, Daiki noticed how Kei’s eating became slow. She only ate half of the ramen bowl and one serving of rice and let Daiki finish all of it. After eating, they left and walked elsewhere until they reach a theme park.
“It’s been a while since we played on a theme park”
“Sou da ne. Should we play here for awhile?”
“Ikou!!!!” Daiki excitedly took her hand as they enter the park.
They went to the horror house first. Eventhough Daiki gets startled a lot and scared of ghosts, they were able to enjoy it since Kei constantly talked to the scary creatures and models inside, making Daiki laugh a lot. After that, Daiki thought of riding the coaster and got curious if the Kei he knew would scream like a girl there. “Inoochan, coaster?” he asked but Kei unexpectedly agreed, “Sure. I’m fine with it”
“Eh? Are you sure?”
“U-un! I’ve overcome it since me and my university friends often hang out at an amusement park near Meidai” Kei explained but Daiki’s excited face turned plain after hearing about Kei’s close friendship with her uni friends. “What’s the matter, Daichan?” she asked worriedly, usually, the Arioka Daiki she knew would force her to ride it but now his mood suddenly changed. Did she said something wrong? She asked herself.
“Forget it, I don’t want to ride it anymore” Daiki started to walk away from her. “Eh? Why all of a sudden?”
“I just don’t like it anymore!” Daiki’s voice turned a little too high so Kei got worried, “But Daichan…” Kei felt her heart sank as she saw her friend sulking like a kid, she thought of an idea and ran towards him.
“Let’s ride the ferris wheel!” Kei pulled him towards the ride and went in one of the cable car. Daiki kept silent as he folded his arms on his chest and looked outside.
“You know, I think this is the most fun day I had with you” Kei said as she smiled and looked at the early feature of the full moon on the night sky. “How come you said that?” the latter asked, his lips pursed forward and Kei liked it so much. So cute. She thought. “Because I’m with you this entire day and we experienced new things together…” she continued. “If I ever turned back to myself tomorrow, it’ll be a little sad. Not because I wanted this to happen to me but I always wanted to experience a couple’s date too, you know!” she smiled at him but Daiki turned silent. She sighed when he didn’t say anything, “You know it too, right? That I’ve never dated someone before”
“I wonder…” Daiki finally spoke.
“Hmm?”
“I wonder what’s unlikeable about you?” the short guy suddenly turned serious and looked at her in the eyes.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, even as a guy, I think I’ll like someone like you…”
“You… you like me?”
“Of course, as a friend!” Daiki tried to deny the unexplainable feelings he have.
“Ah, sou ka…” Kei turned a little sad, she thought it’ll be a mutual feeling.
“But it’s true! You’re so likeable! Eventhough you’re random, that’s what makes you interesting…”
“Arigatou, Daichan!”
“Un…”
“Oh, it’s time to get off. Come on!”
They are now walking towards the train station. There is a deep silence in between them as they climbed up the stairs. They have to separate now since their homes are on the opposite direction.
“So see you tomorrow at the jimusho?” Kei spoke first but only received a short reply from the latter before walking towards his train “Un.”
But little did Daiki know that when he turned his back to Kei, a pair of lonely tears escaped from her eyes.

The next day, when Daiki arrived, he found the usual setting of their rehearsal room. Ryosuke and Chinen are practicing some dance moves, Yuto and Keito helping each other stretching their body, Kota and Yuya using their smart phones and the remaining two BEST members casually chatting on the couch. Everyone’s back to normal so he figured out that Kei is normal again. Kei saw him arrived and wanted to tell him that he’s back to normal but Daiki seems to be embarrassed to look at the latter so he went to Yuto and Keito to join them. Kei got hurt somehow, he kinda missed Daiki’s cheerful greeting whenever he arrives. He tried to shrug it off and continued his chat with Hikaru. Not long after, the dance director arrived and called for them. They stood up and went over to discuss their new dance routine. Kei intended to stand beside Daiki but the latter went away and sat beside Chinen on the front row. The pale guy got hurt when he noticed that Daiki is somewhat distancing his self from him. All throughout the rehearsal, there wasn’t even a word spoken to him so he decided to confront him and pulled his hand immediately after the rehearsal. They were in the emergency stair case and Daiki kept looking away from him.
“Daichan, what’s with you all of a sudden?”
“No-nothing!”
“Don’t lie to me. Come on, if you’re mad at me just tell me”
“I’m not mad at you”
“Then what?”
“I just don’t want you to think that I like you”
“Huh?”
“I told you yesterday that I like you as a friend, right?”
“What? I don’t remember being with you yesterday except during rehearsal” Kei denied, he wanted to pretend that everything happened yesterday was just a dream.
“What are you saying? You turned into a girl yesterday and we had a date and-“ Daiki tried to explain but the latter cut him “Wait!!! Daichan, are you sick or something?”
“I don’t get you. Anyways, I’m going home first, I have an errand to do. Jaa!” the pale guy left him alone there, eyes widen.
“Does it mean, it was all a dream?” he asked his self and scratch his head.
“Aaaah! It’s just a dream then!” he walked towards the door and opened it only to find Kei leaving with Yuya.
“Wait, since when they got closer like that?” he asked his self as his footsteps became faster to catch up with the two. He stopped walking when Yuya leaned closer to Kei’s face and somewhat brushed his thumb on his cheek. His blood boiled and he screamed “Aaaaah!”, making the two look at him in surprise.
“Sorry Takaki, but Inoochan and I were called by Johnny-san just now. You can go first. Come on, Inoochan!” Daiki didn’t bothered to wait for the taller guy’s response as he took Kei’s hand and ran back to their empty rehearsal room.
“Daichan, what’s the matter with you? We all know Johnny-san is currenly on vacation, right?”
“Inoochan, I…”
“Hm?”
“I… I… li-like…” Daiki kept stuttering and feeling nervous while Kei just waited for him.
“Like what?”
“I like you Inoochan!” he finally confessed. “Eh? I like you too Daichan” Kei giggled at him as his tension got higher to explain “No! Not like that! As in, I really like you!”
“Well, don’t we all like our friends?”
“No! I like you, like this!” Daiki tiptoed to plant a soft kiss on Kei’s soft lips. The latter froze on his spot. He blinked a few times while the short guy looked down to hide his red face. “Daichan, di-did y-you j-j-just-“ Kei stuttered but Daiki cut him, “I honestly like you more than friends. So Inoochan, please go out with me!” he bowed his head as he begged then he looked up to see the pretty guy giggling. “Mou Inoochan~ Don’t laugh when I had just confessed to you. I’m serious you know!” he puffed his cheeks and Kei can’t help but to pinch them.
“Alright then, I like you too Daichan~” Kei singed as he took Daiki’s hand and pulled him into a hug. Daiki snuggled to his chest and felt his warmth. “Sorry I lied awhile ago” he added making Daiki pushed him a little and pinch his pointy nose “Why you!”. “If I didn’t lie, you wouldn’t confess right?” he explained but Daiki looked annoyed, “Is flirting with Takaki, part of your plan too? Huh?”. Kei just laughed at him as he put an arm around his shoulder as they headed towards the door to leave.
“Honestly, I didn’t expected Takaki to do that too” Kei confessed making the cute penguin stood there frozen with widened eyes and was about to explode but a sudden kiss from his new boyfriend made all of his anger disappear.
“I only love you, ba~ka~” Kei whispered to him, making Daiki’s face turned red as tomato.
