Chapter 2

Yuya was studying alone in the last table at the end of the library. She suddenly remembered what Kei said back then.

“Ano… Can…C-an you be my boyfriend? Onegaishimasu!” she bowed her head and was feeling so nervous.

“Okay. It’s fine for me” Kei smiled at her. Yuya just blinked, she can’ t believe that he agreed.

“Eh? A-re you sure its okay?” she asked curiously

“I don’t have a girlfriend now, so its fine”

Heh? So he really had girlfriends before but why didn’t I know about it? Oh!

 She snapped her finger and a smile grew on her face.

I’ll ask Dai-chan about it, he knows almost everything. Demo…

“I’d want to hear it from Inoo directly” she shook her head and mumbled.

“What do you want to hear from me?” Kei suddenly showed in front of her with a book on his hand, smiling. Yuya blushed and started to panic. She messed up the things on the table and a paper fell on the ground. Kei picked it up and saw  Yuya’ sketch with his name on it. Kei chuckled and showed the paper to Yuya.

“Do I really look like an angel?” Yuya grabbed the paper and hid it behind her back. She didn’t realized that she drew a sketch of Inoo while thinking of him.

“Iya… ano… it isn’t you! Its…” Yuya blushed more and tried to hide her red face.

“Is there other Inoo Kei in this world aside from me?” Kei laughed more and sat at the seat across Yuya.

“Toni kaku, what is it you want to hear from me?” he smiled at her. Yuya sat down and pretend to busy studying.

“Hey, that’s not a good girlfriend should act in front of her boyfriend, right?” Yuya froze upon hearing the words “girlfriend” & “boyfriend”. She closed her book and looked straight to Inoo and breathe deeply before asking.

“You said you had girlfriends before, can you tell me why did you break up with them? I mean, I’m just curious how you deal with them” Inoo blinked and smiled at her.

“You sure are a nosy person, aren’t you?”

“Well, if you don’t want to talk about it then its fine for me” Yuya pouts, stood  and about to leave when Inoo grab her wrist.

“Wait, why do you want to know?”

“Forget about it, okay? I’ll be leaving now.”

“Okay then, I’ll tell you so please don’t leave.” Yuya was touched when she heard Inoo begging her to stay. She sat again, now they are face to face and Yuya seemed uncomfortable with Inoo’s serious face.

“I had a childhood friend and we developed feelings for each other as we grew old. She had a very weak heart so she always stays at home. I would visit her everyday and tell my stories. Sometimes, I will share the lessons I’ve learned from school. But one day, her parents were involved in a car accident and died. When the police told her, she cried so much, her heart couldn’t take the pain so much. She was sent to the hospital and I would visit her everyday and cheer her up. I noticed how sad she was and one afternoon, I was waking her up for her lunch but she doesn’t respond. I called the doctor and they examined her. They told me she died sleeping, her heart stopped from beating and caused her to die that instant. She was the girl I really loved back then but now I helped myself to move on and continue my life without her.” Yuya’s tears fall from her eyes as she heard everything from Inoo.

“I’m sorry” she mumbled

“It’s okay, I guess I need to find someone else to love. She left a letter to me saying that I should continue my life and find a better woman that will cherish me forever” Yuya’s tears suddenly stopped.

A-re? Why is my heart beating so fast right now? Am I? Am I inlove with Inoo now? I feel like I want to protect him and love him until his heartache heals.

“Maa! I guess that’s the end of our story then. Jaa! See you later!” Inoo stood and was about to leave when Yuya rushed to him and hug him from behind.

“Can I… Can I love you? Can I heal your heart? Can I be by your side?” Yuya mumbled while crying silently behind Inoo. Kei smiled and turned to Yuya.

“Arigatou…” he put his hands on her shoulder.

“But I don’t want you to love me out of pity. I want you to learn how love develops within you and when that time comes, I can accept your feelings.” Inoo left Yuya standing.

He’s right, I think what I feel towards him is pity.

Yuya hasn’t been in a relationship yet so she’s still confused about love.  She decided not to tell Dai-chan about Inoo’s story ‘coz she thought that it’s a secret between them.

Chapter 1

While driving in the road, Kota’s right hand is intertwined with Kei’s left hand. They are newlyweds taking their honeymoon in Hawaii. Both of their families are powerful business partners and their marriage was an arranged one. At first, they are against to it but somehow they fall for each other as time passed by.

                Kei is the only daughter of Inoo family, she was raised like a princess but she learned the real life when she was in college. She wished to live alone and work at the same time to experience the world of commoners. Yabu was the missing son of Yabu family, he was found during his high school days and was strictly taught to be a noble man since then. They were engaged during their second year in college and started building a good relationship.   

                They are now taking the long road to the beach of Hawaii when an uncontrolled truck is moving fast towards their car. Kota quickly tried to avoid the truck so their car directed towards the trees and bumped into a big rock.

“K-ei… hold on…” Kota managed to say the last words before he lost his consciousness while hugging an already unconscious Kei.

After 1 month…

“What should we do now? The both of them are still unconscious for a month now and the business is not getting better at all” Kota’s father Makoto Yabu spoke first after a long silence in the conference room.

“Forgive me if I left all the managing to them but you know that I loved my daughter so much. I can’t leave her alone not that her mother died a year ago. She needs me by her side and…” Adachi Inoo was cut by Makoto.

“And what?!!! Let the business vanish in such an unprofessional reason? Wake up Adachi! What about our business deal?”

“I know Makoto, but I can’t just leave Kei unconscious like that”

“This conversation is not getting any further, I’ll withdraw my investments and end the deal with you. I’ll make Kota divorce your daughter as soon as they gain consciousness. And that’s final!!!” Makoto angrily stated then left a stumbled Adachi.

“Alright, if that’s how you deal with this matter, I’ll make Kei divorce your son too.” Adachi said with his fist tightened grip.

After a week, the couple already gained consciousness and their parents discovered that the both of them have amnesia. They cannot remember each other aside from their family. And they didn’t let the two see each other after they woke up and told the couple that they are single.  The plan of the two families went easy and they made the two sign the divorce papers by pretending that the papers are for hospital release.

                Since Kei cannot remember the last four years of her life including her college study, she decided to take college again in Heisei University. This time, she took up the Music course which her one of their servant, Hikaru, had taken up before. Both of them started their first year because Hikaru stopped and was only able to study again because of Kei’s request.

“Kei-sama, you can take this seat” Hikaru pulled the chair and guided Kei to sit on it.

“Arigatou, Hikaru. Heh? Why are you far from me? You can sit beside me” Kei pointed out when Hikaru attempts to sit at the far end.

“Ii yo? Ja, if that’s what you want Kei-sama”

“I told you, you can call me Kei. No need to address me like that when you’re with me. I feel kind of awkward when you call me that.” Kei smiled at him and he blushed.

“Arigatou..K-ei-sam… Kei…”

“That’s better, Hikaru” his heart beats faster everytime she called him by his first name.

                Kei didn’t know that Hikaru holds a deep feeling towards her. Since they were children, he already like her. Who wouldn’t? Kei has a very angelic and beautiful face. She isn’t like any other rich girl who would waste money shopping what they like. Kei was different that’s why Hikaru fell in love to her more each and everyday.

On the other hand…

“Kota, can you still recall the business course you took up?” Makoto speaks during their dinner.

“I think, I don’t Dad. My head hurts when I try to remember something” Kota explained.

“Alright then, you’re going to study again. Decide which university and I’ll prepare everything”

                Kota was looking at the list of all prestigious universities, he decided to play a little. He counted the letters of his name(8) and added his age (23), the number 31 on the list was Heisei University and decided to study there.

                His father told him to take up business course so he did. After his first day of class, he is now wandering in the campus when he passes by an old music room. He hears a sweet melody of a piano so he peeks inside. He saw a girl playing beautifully with her pretty fingers. He decided to listen until the music stops.

“Kota-sama, we have to go home now” the driver appeared behind him.

“Ah, hai. Just a little longer” he starts to listen but he noticed that the music stopped and the girl who played the piano left already.

“Ah~ I want to hear her music more but I’m more interested of how she looks. I wonder if she’s here tomorrow” Kota sighed while walking towards their car.

“Kei-sama! Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you” Hikaru was breathing heavily while talking.

“Ah gomen. I saw an old music room and played the piano for a while. Sorry if I made you worried.” Kei smiled at him.

“Please don’t leave my side…”

“Hm?” Kei asked cutely.

“I mean, please let me know where you will go. I was instructed to protect you” he rolled his eyes and feeling nervous.

“Hai hai… Wakatta… I promise, it’ll never happen again” she raise her pinky finger but Hikaru raised a brow so she cling hers on Hikaru’s pinky finger.

“Ja, that’s a promise okay?” she giggled and pushed Hikaru gently.

“Maa, I’m hungry. Let’s eat some pasta!”

“But Kei-sama…”

“Sama?”

“I mean K-ei, we have to get home now”

“Don’t worry, I’ll call Dad. And besides, it’s my treat! So let’s go!” Kei cheerfully said.
