Summary: The start of the story is based on the Anime Live-action movie with the same title and the rest was my idea so I won’t tell the summary! It’s for you to read~

“Ah mou~~~~ What should I do? No matter what I do, no one wanted to date me...” Minamisawa Nao whined while eating her bento in one of the bench on the school ground. She was a tomboy since young and thus she grew up to move like a boy wearing boy’s clothes too. She’s also the youngest and the only girl with two older brothers. She tried confessing to guys she liked but was always rejected.

“Kyaah! Inoo-san is here!” she heard the girls near her flail while looking at the handsome guy walking towards the fountain and sat at the edge while reading a book.

“Hm?” she stood and walked towards the guy who are now surrounded by students, both girls and boys. He has pale skin, dark brown hair, baby eyes, nice pointed nose and beautiful lips. She stared at him closely and a bright idea crossed her mind.

“Inoo-san! Please accept my feelings!” one girl confessed, handing a love letter towards the popular guy.

“Accept mine too!” another girl confessed and so one another.

“Oi! Don’t disturb Inoo-san’s private time!” One guy said, preventing the girls from getting near Inoo. The other guys agreed and argued with the girls. They didn’t notice that the guy they admired already left because of too much noise around him.

He decided to go to the rooftop to continue reading his book. He found a bench there and lay down as he reads but a sudden fake cough echoed near him so he put the book on his chest and stared at the boyish-looking girl standing near him.

“Anou... Inoo-san, right?” Nao asked shyly while gripping on the hem of her blouse. Inoo averted his eyes and starts reading his book again.

“Please!” she shouted making Inoo surprised and drop the book on his face. He sat up and sighed deeply.

“What?”

“I... I... I want you...” she keeps on stumbling on her words while swaying her one foot on the ground.

“Sorry, can’t do” he said, not letting her finish her words and stood to leave.

“It’s not like that! I mean, please! Take me as your trainee!” she blurted out making him stop on his track.

“Huh?” he looked back at her and raised a brow

“Please coach! Teach me how to be popular!”

“Why should I?”

“Well because you’re so popular to everyone, be it girls be it boys, they respect and like you! While me, I haven’t made friends with anyone since the school started. I just can’t really... I mean, I just wanted to have a boyfriend!” she said in one breath, making Inoo blinked at her a few times before bursting in to a laugh.

“Don’t laugh! It’s not funny!” she punched his shoulder lightly while being embarassed

“Sorry... you looked cute” he whispered after gaining his self again

“Eh?” she blinks at him cluelessly

“Nothing! Anyways, I’ll help you but in one very important rule” he got near him and showed his index finger in front of her face.

“Anything! I’ll follow it, I promise!” she clapped both her hands to promised.

“DON’T. FALL. IN. LOVE. WITH. ME.”

“Eh? Is that it? Don’t worry I won’t. In fact, you’re not my type” she rubbed her nose with her thumb as she answered casually as if it was an easy task.

“Kono yarou...” he mumbled, he got pissed off with this girl’s boyish attitude.

“What did you say?”

“I said we could start tomorrow”

“Really? Yatta!”

After school the next day, she went to class A to wait for her coach to go out.

“Ah, coach!” she cheerfully greeted him, trying to reach his shoulder to put her arms around it but failed since he’s much taller.

“Don’t call me that!”

“Then Inoo-san! Where do we start?”

He sighed deeply then looked at her from head to toe “At the boutique”.  He started walking so she followed behind him. They went to the nearest mall and found a fashionable shop. When they entered a boutique, all the female customers and salesladies gazed at them and they all flail at Inoo.

“Good afternoon! What can we do for you?” One saleslady said, bowing to both of them politely.

“This girl needs a set of clothes, maybe casual clothes will do” he said as looks at the clothes on the rack.

“Wakarimashita, this way please” both of them followed and the rest did too. The saleslady gave her a skirt and a blouse first while Inoo went to seat on the sofa. When she came out from the dressing room and showed it to Inoo, he gave her an ‘X’ gesture with his arms, the audience (the other customers and salesladies) mimicked him. Next, she tried a skinny jeans and a sweater but Inoo shook his head in disagreement and so the audience too. She tried different clothes and the saleslady ran out of ideas for her.

Inoo sighed deeply, he stood and walked towards the dress section. He picked a pink dress with a ribbon design on the left side and handed it over to her.

“Eh?! A dress? I haven’t tried one before” she tried to refuse it

“Just try it” Inoo rolled his eyes and returned to his seat. She sighed before turning back to the dressing room to wear it. A few minutes have passed but she still didn’t showed up. Inoo got bored and knocked on the dressing room.

“Hey Minamisawa, aren’t you taking too long there?” he asked.

“I don’t want to go out! It’s embarrassing!” she answered

“What are you talking about? Let me see!”

“Yada!”

“How should I know if you won’t show it?”

“Alright, but don’t laugh okay?”

“I won’t”

She then opened the door and stepped out.

“Here. I looked bad, right?” she looked so embarrassed and looked down elsewhere but it was the opposite to Inoo. He stared at her from head to toe and blushed in an instant. He covered his mouth with the back of his hand and looked away when she looked at him in a questioned look.

“Minamisawa... you are...” Inoo couldn’t continue his words since he’s too astounded by her.

“Yappari, I shouldn’t have tried it” she felt too embarrassed, she thought that Inoo was holding his laugh with that gesture. She was about to return to the dressing room but she heard him say, “Wait!”

“It looks good on you” Inoo commented, turning his back at her and walked away.

“Eh?! What did you say?” she blinks again, she didn’t really heard what he said. –> ‘coz she’s too naive!

“Kyaah! You looked so pretty, Ma’am!” the salesladies approached her and praised her.

“R-really?”

“Um! I should have made you try a dress from the start! You really looked so different from awhile ago!”

“Oi! What did you said?” she asked in a yankee way.

“Ah! I mean, look! Your boyfriend is blushing due to your prettiness”

“What? Boyfriend? Haha! He’s not my boyfriend”

“THANK GOD!!!!!” they all shouted in disbelief.

“Eh? What do you mean?”

“Ah, nothing Ma’am. Shall we proceed at the counter then?”

“Ah, hai. Wait! Let me change first!”

“No, you’ll wear that today” Inoo said, pushing her towards the counter immediately. (‘coz he wants to get out from there to escape from the eyes of the flailing girls)

After paying for the dress, they left and went to buy cosmetics. She noticed that he rarely talked to her since then and only do whenever it’s needed.

A few days have passed, he continues to help her to change her image and successfully did it. On the last day of the festival, they met at the school gate. He froze on his spot when he saw her walking towards him wearing a frilly skirt that shows her beautiful pale legs and a laced black blouse that complimented her snow-white skin. He can’t help but to stare at her, his heart beat going faster by seconds and he almost choke when she greeted him with a beautiful smile.

“Konichiwa, Inoo-san!” she tapped his shoulder lightly.

“Ah... Konichiwa...” he greeted back, mentally face-palmed himself of being stupid for falling in love to his student.

“You’re still boyish, don’t do that to any other guy, okay?”

“Eh? Does that mean I can only do it to you?”

“Huh? Ah, no!” he just realized what he just said.

“Let’s just go in!” he took her hand to go to the festival immediately to change the topic.

“Heh~ Inoo’s hand is pretty eventhough he’s a guy!” she chuckled as they walked through the different stalls. She noticed that although his hand has veins like any other guys, his fingers are long and slim.

“What are you laughing at?” he stopped walking and looked at her.

“Nothing~ Ah! Let’s go eat takoyaki there!” she pointed at the food stall a few blocks away and walked first.

“W-wait! Did I just held her hand? Luckily she didn’t notice that much” he stared at his hand and smiled after then.

They were eating happily (since they both love eating), when a cute short girl stopped by them.

“A-re? Is that you, Kei-chan?” the girl asked. Nao noticed that she calls him by his given name.

“Dai-chan?” he also called her familiarly.

“Hisashiburi! Ara! Is she your girlfriend now?”

“Ah, no! I’m not!”

“Sou ka? Jaa, can I talk to him in private for a while?”

Nao could only nod and look at the disappearing figure of the two. She felt a clutch on her chest. She felt lonely being alone. “I think she was his ex-girlfriend...” she mumbled to herself as she take a bite on her takoyaki. “I don’t want to eat anymore...” she lost her appetite so she stood and left. She wandered elsewhere to enjoy the festival but failed.

“What’s wrong with me? Why do I feel this way? I just can’t...” she sighed and looked for a bench and sat there. She then heard a girl’s voice.

“Kei-chan, you know I still love you!” Daiki confessed, they are standing near the soccer field. Her tears came out so Inoo walked towards her and hugged her.

“Dai-chan... I...” Inoo whispered but he saw Nao standing by a tree looking at them. He immediately let go of Daiki. Nao noticed him looking at her so she ran away.

“Wait Nao!” he tried to run after her but Daiki gripped on his hand tightly.

“You call her by her only name? Now I get it...” Daiki laughed brokenheartedly

“Dai-chan, I’m sorry but I don’t feel the same way before” he said softly, trying not to break Daiki’s heart more

“You’ve fallen for her, right?” she asked, she wiped her tears and smiled at him. Inoo looked away and nodded while blushing.

“Go to her now before it’s too late” she then let go of his hand and let him run to her.

Inoo ran after her as fast as he could. He search at the stalls and everywhere but failed to find her. He tried calling her phone but she turned it off. He was out of breath when he remembered the special place he holds dear. He immediately ran towards the rooftop and there she is. Crying while sitting at the bench where he was lying down when they first met. He took off his jacket and placed it round her shoulder. She looked at him then stood to leave but Inoo took her hand and pulled to take her to his arms. Nao could clearly hear the fast beating of his chest.

“I guess you can hear my heartbeat right now” he held her closer and tighter, smelling her sweet scented-hair.

“I thought you accepted her feelings again?” she asked, finally encircling her arms to hug him back.

“I was going to reject her and soothe her but you misunderstood”

“Ah! But what about the special rule then?” she pushed him lightly and asked.

“I was the one who broke it first, I fell for you on the first day”

“Eh? That early?”

“Yeah, so be responsible and be mine already” he said as he took her chin with his hand lovingly

“What if I say, I don’t like you?” she said with a yankee expression (again)

“What?!” Inoo was taken aback there.

“Because I love you, silly!” she pinched his cheek lightly but he caught her hand and looked at her eyes deeply. She stared back at him, her heart is beating faster than awhile ago.

“I love you, Nao” he confessed, as he leans closer to her face and planted a kiss on her lips. They stayed like that until she opened her eyes and pulled away when she saw the meteor shower.

“Look! It’s meteor shower! It’s so awesome!” they both stare at the beautiful night sky scenery but Inoo stared back at her face.

“Uhn. But it’s nothing compared to you” he cupped her cheeks and kissed her again but deeply this time. She smiled at the kiss and eventually returned it.

And so her high school debut became a big success. First because, he improved her appearance and old habits and of course, he found a friend and a lover on Inoo Kei, the most popular guy in the school.
