Pairing: Yabu x Hikaru, Inoo x Hikaru (one-sided), a hint of Takaki x Inoo (hohoho... ofcourse, they’re my favorite OTP)
Summary: Until when will Hikaru suffer from his unrequited love? A week? A month? A year? He doesn’t know until Yabu pushed his back to move on.
Hikaru sighed for the nth time already, seeing his special someone having a good conversation with the least person he thought of: Takaki. Even though they’re always together on their radio program every week, his feelings grew bigger as time passes by. But something in Inoo Kei’s smile is bothering him, he never saw him this blooming whenever he talks with a member. And that is his big problem, he thinks that the pale guy is falling for Takaki already.
On the other hand, Yabu is watching him from a far. He sighs too whenever Hikaru sighs. After all the objections in his mind, he decided to just go for it and comfort his life-long partner.
“You know, you could hit them with a laser beam with your heavy stare” Yabu took a seat next to the Miyagi boy but the latter could only roll an eye at him. “Shut up, Bamboo Kota” he mocked, and a smile formed in his lips when he saw the irritated face of the oldest member.
“Glad I made you smile...” Yabu’s face changed as he flashes his no-eye smile. Hikaru’s smile fades and sighed again.
“You should give them a chance together, they just started getting close you know” Yabu explained as he crossed his arms on his chest and lay back on the couch.
“Huh?”
“Look...” he gestured at the two BEST members talking endlessly about their own trip yesterday. “This is the first time I saw them talking so actively with each other. So you should-“ he continued but was cut by Hikaru “Not meddle with them? Fine! I’m out’a here!” he exclaimed. He stood and walks to leave but the older grabbed his wrist and pulled him outside. The younger just followed behind him until they reached the rooftop of the building. Yabu finally let go of him and walked towards the railings.
“AAAAHHHHHH!” Yabu suddenly shouted
“What are you doing, idiot” Hikaru forced a laugh then turned plain again.
“It’s okay to let out your feelings once in a while”
“Huh? What do you mean? I’m leaving” he was about to open the door when Yabu spoke “... especially when its gonna explode” Hikaru froze on his spot while the older walked towards him and punched his chest lightly.
“Yaotome Hikaru, just let go”
Hikaru palmed his aching heart and slowly, his tears start to flow. He felt a hard slap on his back coming from Yabu so he stepped forward and grabbed the railings, “AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!” he shouted with the loudest voice he can do. The older could only look at his back and hide his intention to just hug the younger to ease his broken heart. Hikaru shouts and shouts even though the strong wind blows it away. He shouts with all his heart until his tears subsides. He wipes the remaining tears with the back of his hand before he turned to Yabu again.
“Arigatou, Yabu. You really know me well”
“Ofcourse, we know each other’s thoughts even without talking” Yabu smiled at him but Hikaru looked down. He felt a tickling sensation in his heart whenever the older gives him that special smile.
“I... ahm... I guess I should get over him already and focus on my career from now on. Jaa!” he starts to walk towards the exit when suddenly, Yabu pulled him closer and plant a soft kiss. His eyes automatically fluttered close as he felt that pair of soft lips. But Yabu went back to his senses and pulled away.
“I’m sorry... I shouldn’t have-”
“Yabu, you just made my heart flipped for awhile and now you’re apologizing for that?”
“Eh? You’re not mad?”
“Ofcourse I’m mad!”
“Sorry...”
“Just...”
“Just what?”
“Just be responsible of what you’ve done to me from now on!”
“Eh? Does that mean...”
“Baka! I won’t say it straight to you, okay? Now let’s go! You need to take me to our favourite ramen shop now ‘coz I’m hungry already!” Hikaru said then opened the door to leave. Yabu smiled again, hearing that indirect confession. He immediately ran to follow him so they could have their very first date as a couple.
A/N: This was supposed to be an entry for Hikaru’s birthday contest but since I only had time last night to write one, I was too late to submit it. But anyways, this is my first YabuHika fanfic. It’s not like I’m a YabuHika shipper, I just think that these two have a somewhat mutual feelings with each other. Hope you enjoy reading!
