Title: The Agony (Drabble)
Author: Keiyuki
Pairing: Takaki x Inoo (TakaIno, TakaNoo)
Genre: Angst
Rating: G
Summary: It never came to both of them that Takaki’s mother will ask him to marry a woman. They needed to make a hard decision.
A/N: I’m sorry for this angst fanfic but I want to make you long for TakaIno so much before Inoochan’s birthday (and nope, I’m not a do-S haha ^_^).
It feels like heavy rain as Takaki watches his beloved person crying once he stated what his dying mother wished him to do: marry his childhood friend Megumi. He bites his lower lip, took the younger’s arm to pull him in a tight embrace and gently ran his hands on Inoo’s back to somehow soothe the pain. Inoo’s sobs grew heavier and Takaki couldn’t do anything but to close his eyes tight and tried to fight the tears from his eyes.
“I only love you, Kei. You know that, right?” he tried to break the heart-piercing sound of his lover’s cry, Inoo could only bury his face even more on his chest and slowly nodded as an answer. He continued “You also know how important my mother is to me”, he felt Inoo clutching on his shirt as he tried to subside his overflowing sadness.
“All I can do now is fulfill her wish before she leaves us in peace. That’s why, Kei...” he placed his arm on his shoulders to make him look at his face, “We both need to be strong and make the plan come true”.
Although it’s so hard to say those things, even his usual deep voice had become broke, he finally decided to say the most forbidden words to his beloved, “We need to break up”.
Inoo’s tears suddenly stopped as he heard what Takaki said. It’s like his soul and feelings have been taken away from his body. He could only stare plainly at the man he loved for years. His mind went blank and felt like his heart stopped beating already.
“Kei?” he stroked the younger’s cheek gently as he waited for his response. He looked at those beautiful hazel brown eyes, trying to read what’s running on his lover’s mind at that moment. Inoo slowly moved closer to him and planted a soft kiss on his lips.
“I’m hoping for your happiness, Takaki” he forced a bitter smile then stood up to leave. Takaki froze and could only watch Inoo’s back that slowly faded from his sight. He finally broke into pieces when he left him just like that and leaving such words. Adding to that is how the pale guy addressed him, it sounds so strange on his ears. He couldn’t do anything but to let him leave. The tears that he forcefully stopped awhile ago finally flowed and he could only sit there alone in the dark and wept. He can’t imagine now what would his life be without Inoo Kei, his other half. But he doesn’t have a choice but to grant his weak and dying mother’s wish. Now he blames himself why he didn’t told anyone from his family about Inoo, if he did sooner, this would never hurt any of them at all. He still chose his manly pride than telling the whole world that he’s deeply in love with a guy.
But it’s too late now, he already lost his beloved person and sooner or later, his mother will follow.
